Doraemon Movie 2008 -

Doraemon The Future 2008, or fully known as Nobita and the Green Giant Legend 2008, is an anime film that was released in Japan on March 8, 2008.

The story is based on the story in volume 26 "Forest is living" and in volume 33 "Goodbye Ki-bō". This movie is not a remake, however, Ki-bō has appeared already in the 1992 film, "Nobita and the Kingdom of Clouds". The name Ki-bō comes from the words "Ki" meaning tree, and "Bō" meaning a wooden stick. The word Ki-bō also comes from the word "Kibō", which means hope. The catch phrase of this movie is "僕らの希望が未来を動かす" (our hope moves the future), which Ki-bō's name can be referred to. Voices of Roku-chan and Moya-kun were done by anonymous children who were chosen.

The film was illustrated as manga on the February and March edition of CoroCoro Comic. Then it was released as the 25th film tankōbon, which may be bought at the theater. As the 4th "Sega=Doraemon" project, an action-adventure game was also released on March 6, 2008 entitled, Doraemon Nobita to Midori no Kyojinden DS.

Plot:
In 1945, Captain America, U.S. soldier created with a Super-Soldier Serum, is fighting the Nazis during World War II, and after averting a nuclear disaster, he falls into the icy waters of the North Atlantic, and frozen in suspended animation, only to be revived in the twenty-first century by the American military, who are hoping that they can recreate the serum in Captain America's blood in order to create more super-soldiers. But now, with the world facing the very same evil, Captain America must rise again as our last hope of survival, and lead a strong-willed team of today's superheroes.

The show features the two characters facing mostly a self-made problem, trying to solve it using any possible and impossible tools and constructing gadgets, which leads to more problems. Yet, eventually, the two manage to get a working result with a mostly surprising solution. According to the authors, it is the manual ineptitude that inspires the stories. The humour is not the only feature of the show, but also the optmistic approach to life. The two characters always get into problematic situations but they never give up, until they solve the problem in imaginative ways. The show is also memorable for its soundtrack, composed by Petr Skoumal, of which the main parts consist of the theme song and a harmonica tune.
